Seersucker Summer

Seersucker Summer

Old school fashion rules say not to wear seersucker after labor day. I guess we only have a couple weeks left! This fabric is more than just cute and summery, it is also super comfortable.

I have a couple hats very similar to the one shown and it saves my skin at the beach or on the boat. I am now to the point where I can't go without it. I am currently obsessed with these boat shoes! I love the navy ones. I went with a friend looking for some this weekend and I am convinced I need them. Are you a fan of seersucker? What is your favorite seersucker product?

Gazpacho anyone?

It's hot out there. Like 100 degrees or something. I went to the farmers market ready to buy veggies for the week and this is all I could bear. I have never tried gazpacho or any chilled soups for that matter. The cucumber soup sure did it for me today. They are so cold and refreshing! Have you tried making these at home? Do you have a recipe you want to share? (hint, hint)

Vintage Southern Wedding

I know I am WAY late on posting this gorgeous wedding. The sweet couple in the photo have a child now for crying out loud. They are adorbs and you can check out their whole story over at Sadie, Sadie, Married Lady.

Don't they look so old school? She has on a vintage tea length wedding dress that is over 50 years old. Have we talked about how much I love tea length dresses? Some how they managed to plan a wedding for less than $4000. I can picture their grandkids looking at these photos one day with envy over grandma's skin and figure... hoping they will meet a man as nice and good looking as grandpa.

Friday Flowers

Walking along South Battery, I came across some beautiful gardens. How ironic is the lantana growing in the storm water run off drain? Of course our sidewalks are beautiful, it's South of Broad.

Gameday Attire

Football season is now less than a month away. It's time to get ready for a party! Against the request of my less fashionable friends, I like to wear something a little dressy to a football game. No matter which side of the state you are rooting for you want to look good. Happy Almost Football Season!

Noteworthy

With ads like this, Kate Spade makes her stationery hard to resist. Apparently she doesn't know that oysters are only in season on the South Carolina coast in months ending in R. Somehow she still got me.

Friday Flowers

I would love to have a pretty flower box in front of my house. In downtown Charleston there are window boxes on almost every street you walk down. I guess the good thing about not having one is you can enjoy them all day long and never have to maintain them. Do you have a flower box? What do you have planted?
