Are you ready for some football?

Whew, it's been a whirlwind couple days. In the South, our lifestyle transforms in the fall. From what we cook, wear and talk about our weekend revolves around footaball. Last weekend we went to Athens for the South Carolina vs. Georgia game. The drive to Athens was as intense as the game. M likes to be one of the first people at the tailgate. We have been starting the day in style with steak, eggs and champagne. This weekend we made grits too.
There was a chill in the air and the grits were the perfect warm up.

Have you ever put pomegranate juice in your mimosas? You should it's amazing.

Drinking out of mason jars proved to be a good conversation starter. The champagne mixed with oj and pomegranate looks like the color of moonshine. We tried some cinnamon apple moonshine from one of our new friends. Yum!

In Athens, our neighbors were nice enough to let me put my South Carolina chair under their Georgia tent.

In South Carolina the party was rocking. I might have been dancing on the truck box when I took this photo.

Of course you want to bring good food to eat, but it is always good to impress your neighbors too. If you bring enough food you can trade for a plate for what they are cooking. It's a lot easier to check the score of games that are on the TV of someones tailgate set up when you bring a tasty snack for them to try.

Your day revolves around football, but the game is only a small portion of it. Luckily the gamecocks have won all of their games so far. It looks like it's going to be a good year. Go gamecocks!
